Job Description
- Environment Management – Monitor and maintain BDA clusters, nodes, and services.
- Patching & Upgrades – Apply Oracle BDA, OS, and Hadoop ecosystem patches; support version upgrades.
- Performance & Tuning – Optimize cluster performance, resource utilization, and query execution.
- Security & Compliance – Manage user access, roles, Kerberos, and ensure audit/security compliance.
- Backup & Recovery – Manage backups, disaster recovery, and high availability setups.
- Incident & Change Management – Resolve cluster/service issues, deploy configurations, and handle Oracle SRs.
- Integration Support – Coordinate with upstream/downstream systems (OBIEE, EBS, DW, ETL tools). Governance – Provide SLA-driven support, monitoring reports, and documentation.
- Airflow – Review Airflow DAG Setup and apply fixes for existing DAGs, including code/configuration adjustments, resolve bugs impacting pipeline execution.
- Designing for linear scaling by independently adding database and storage resources. Implementing Maximum Availability Architecture (MAA) and ensuring fault tolerance.
- Skills: Linux/UNIX, shell scripting (Bash/Python), Hadoop ecosystem (Cloudera/Hortonworks), Oracle Database, SQL/PLSQL, and data security/backup, plus cloud knowledge (OCI) and automation for managing large-scale data environments
Core Technical Skills
- Operating Systems: Deep Linux/UNIX administration is fundamental.
- Scripting & Automation: Proficiency in Shell scripting (Bash) and Python for automation and integration.
- Big Data Ecosystems: Strong understanding of Hadoop, MapReduce, Hive, Spark, and related Cloudera/Hortonworks components.
- Oracle Database: Expertise in Oracle DB installation, configuration, tuning, security, backup, and recovery (RMAN, Data Guard).
SQL & PL/SQL: Essential for data manipulation, logic, and performance optimization
