Key Responsibilities
- Ideation and Planning: Should be able to figure out the variables needed to Define battery architecture and protection requirements. Review and validate proposals, samples, and test results provided by manufacturers.
- Collaborate with Manufacturers: Work with B2B manufacturers, particularly in the EV domain, to develop high-quality, cost-effective components.
- Product Design & Prototyping: Utilize EV component expertise to enhance product design, functionality, and performance. Create prototypes and samples to evaluate form, fit, and function. Contribute to the evolution of our product line by integrating EV industry standards and innovations.
- Quality Control: Monitor product quality by establishing quality standards and processes. Conduct tests and inspections, report on findings, and collaborate with manufacturers to resolve any issues.
- Cost Optimization: Analyze product costs and look for opportunities to reduce production expenses without compromising quality.
- Market Research: Assist in gathering insights on market needs and consumer trends to inform product development.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of product specifications, changes, and manufacturing processes. Provide regular updates to the program manager and other stakeholders.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with marketing, supply chain, and other teams to ensure smooth product development processes and timely launches.
- Vendor Management: Help establish strong relationships with vendors and suppliers, ensuring reliable and consistent product delivery.
- Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field.
- Experience: 3-6 years in product development, preferably with experience working in EV or battery related fields. Experience in B2B sourcing and manufacturing is highly preferred but not mandatory.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.) for product design and prototyping. Expert in EV component architecture and Battery architecture is must. Strong knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes. Familiarity with testing and quality assurance processes.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams and with external partners. Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities. Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Bonus: Knowledge of D2C product development and scaling manufacturing internally is a plus.
