Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Battery Production/Manufacturing Engineer to manage end-to-end battery manufacturing operations. The role involves ensuring production efficiency, maintaining quality compliance, implementing process improvements, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in lithium-ion battery manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage battery production line operations, including cell sorting, module assembly, pack assembly, and final testing

Ensure adherence to manufacturing processes, SOPs, and safety standards across all production stages

Monitor and improve production KPIs such as OEE, efficiency, FPY, rejection %, and downtime

Implement process improvements to enhance productivity, reduce cycle time, and minimize waste

Coordinate with Quality teams (SQA, IQC, QA) to resolve defects and ensure product reliability

Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) using tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone, and 8D

Ensure compliance with APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan, and automotive quality tools

Optimize line balancing, manpower utilization, and machine efficiency

Support New Product Development (NPD) and smooth product launches into production

Ensure proper handling of battery safety protocols, including thermal management and ESD control

Work closely with suppliers for component quality improvement and vendor development

Technical Skills & Knowledge:

Battery Manufacturing Knowledge

Cell grading and sorting

Spot welding / laser welding

Busbar and nickel strip assembly

BMS (Battery Management System) integration

Pack assembly and sealing

Charging, discharging, and testing

Manufacturing Engineering Skills

Process design and optimization

Line balancing and cycle time reduction

Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and 5S

Poka-Yoke (Mistake Proofing)

Quality Tools & Standards

APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan

SPC, MSA, 7 QC Tools

Familiarity with ISO quality standards

KPIs & Performance Metrics

OEE, OLE, FPY

PPM, Scrap %, Efficiency

Equipment & Testing Knowledge

IR testing

Capacity testing

Thermal testing

Battery pack validation and safety testing

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Production Engineering

Minimum 3+ years of experience in battery manufacturing / EV / automotive production

Key Competencies:

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Hands-on approach in production environments

Effective communication and cross-functional coordination

Ability to work under pressure and meet production targets

Good to Have (Preferred Skills):

Experience in EV industry or battery pack manufacturing

Knowledge of automation and PLC-based systems

Exposure to ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 standards
