Industry & Sector: Regional healthcare Pediatric hospital delivering comprehensive inpatient, outpatient, neonatal and emergency services across Mahasamund, Chhattisgarh. This is an on-site clinical role supporting front-line pediatric care, triage and ward management for a high-volume community hospital.
Primary Title: Resident Medical Officer (Pediatrics) - BAMS/BHMS
Role & Responsibilities
- Provide direct clinical care for pediatric patients across OPD, IPD and emergency settingsassess, diagnose, treat and document care plans.
- Lead triage and stabilize acute pediatric and neonatal emergencies; perform resuscitation and initiate life-saving interventions when required.
- Manage daily ward rounds, monitor inpatients, coordinate investigations and implement treatment escalations with consultants.
- Administer immunization, growth and developmental screening programs and counsel caregivers on nutrition and preventive care.
- Maintain accurate medical records and handovers; ensure timely communication with families and multidisciplinary clinical teams.
- Support hospital protocolsinfection control, drug administration, shift handovers and participation in continuous medical education.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- BAMS or BHMS degree with valid local registration to practice (required).
- Proven competency in pediatric emergency management and neonatal resuscitation.
- Experience managing pediatric OPD and IPD workflows, including medication administration and monitoring.
- Ability to perform structured clinical documentation and use EMR or paper-based record systems accurately.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or equivalent.
Preferred
- Advanced neonatal/pediatric life support certification (e.g., NRP/PALS) or training in IMNCI.
- Prior experience as an RMO or clinical officer in a pediatric hospital or busy emergency setting.
