Responsibilities
Baking and Preparation:
Prepare and bake a wide variety of baked goods, including breads, pastries, cakes, cookies, and desserts, following established recipes and techniques.
Decorate baked goods to ensure beautiful and appealing presentation.
Develop new recipes and seasonal menu items to keep the offerings fresh and exciting.
Kitchen Management:
Manage inventory of baking ingredients, supplies, and equipment, and place orders as needed within budget.
Ensure all baking equipment is properly maintained and in good working order.
Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization in the baking area and pastry kitchen.
Ensure compliance with all food safety and sanitation regulations.
Menu Development:
Plan custom-made desserts for special occasions.
Collaborate with management to ensure the pastry menu aligns with the overall restaurant or bakery concept.
Qualifications and Skills
Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and presentation.
Creativity and a passion for baking.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Attention to detail.
Familiarity with food safety and sanitation standards.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Formal culinary education with a focus on pastry arts is often a plus.
