- Design and Implementation: Design and implement backup and recovery strategies using Commvault and Cohesity technologies. This includes creating and managing backup policies, schedules, and retention policies.
- Maintenance and Optimization: Regularly maintain and optimize backup systems to ensure efficient and reliable backup operations. This includes monitoring system performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing necessary improvements.
- Disaster Recovery: Develop and implement disaster recovery strategies to ensure business continuity in the event of a disaster. This includes regular testing and updating of disaster recovery plans.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues related to backup and recovery operations. This includes working closely with other IT teams to resolve complex issues.
- Compliance and Security: Ensure that all backup and recovery operations comply with relevant data protection regulations and security standards. This includes implementing necessary security measures such as encryption and access controls.
- Training and Documentation: Provide training to other IT staff on backup and recovery procedures. Also, create and maintain documentation related to backup and recovery operations.
- Vendor Management: Liaise with vendors (Commvault, Cohesity, etc.) for technical support, software updates, and other issues.
Qualifications:
- Overall 10+ years experience in IT and backup technology implementations
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Extensive experience with backup technologies, specifically Commvault and Cohesity.
- Experience with Veritas NetBackup is a plus.
- Knowledge of compute, storage, and database technologies.
- Experience in designing and implementing backup solutions for compute, storage, and database needs.
- Experience with cloud computing technologies, such as Azure, is desirable.
- Understanding of disaster recovery principles and practices.
- Proficiency in scripting languages for automation purposes.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with other IT teams and stakeholders.
- Relevant certifications such as Commvault Certified Professional or Cohesity Certified Associate could be beneficial.
- Familiarity with compliance and security standards related to data backup and recovery.
