Backup Administrator

Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Backup Administrator with 6-8 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of backup and recovery processes, as well as experience with a variety of backup technologies and tools. The candidate must be able to work independently, be proactive, and have excellent troubleshooting skills. This is a full-time position based in India.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain backup and recovery processes for various environments
• Monitor backup systems and troubleshoot any issues that arise
• Perform regular backups of critical data to ensure business continuity
• Develop and maintain backup policies and procedures
• Manage backup storage devices and ensure adequate space is available
• Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure backups are integrated with other systems
• Perform disaster recovery testing to ensure backup systems are functioning properly
• Document backup procedures and maintain a knowledge base of best practices

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
• 6-8 years of experience in backup and recovery administration
• Hands-on experience with backup technologies such as Commvault, Veeam, and NetBackup
• Strong knowledge of backup and recovery processes and best practices
• Experience with virtualized environments such as VMware and Hyper-V
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Knowledge of disaster recovery procedures and testing
• Certification in relevant technologies such as Commvault Certified Professional or Veeam Certified Engineer is a plus
