Senior Backend Software Engineer

(Backend & Data Engineering (SQL))

Ready to shape the backbone of product information at global scale

We're hiring a Senior Software Engineer who's passionate about clean architecture, data performance, and building systems that just keep running.

At Electrolux, our Product Information Management (PIM) platform is the single source of truth for product data: powering e-commerce sites, retailer feeds, marketplaces, service portals, and internal apps across the world. Think high-throughput imports, rules-driven enrichment, airtight data quality, and dependable distribution to every downstream consumer.

Your mission

Build and evolve robust, highperformance data services and ETL pipelines that keep product data accurate, fast, and available. You'll be the primary owner for SQL Server development, performance tuning, and operational reliability, while also contributing to .NET backend services and APIs that move product data wherever it needs to go, securely and at scale.

Who You Are

A pragmatic engineer with strong SQL Server expertise who can design, optimize, and maintain data architectures and pipelines. You're comfortable writing TSQL (procedures, functions, and triggers), building SSIS jobs, instrumenting for observability, and collaborating across Product, Data/Analytics, QA, and Platform teams to deliver reliable, well-documented solutions.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of professional experience building and operating backend/data applications (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience designing, building, and operating C#/.NET backend services and developing ETL and REST APIs.
  • Handson with background/worker services for data processing and integrations.
  • Solid understanding of clean architecture, dependency injection, configuration, and resiliency patterns.
  • Expert SQL (Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL): tables, indexes, views, stored procedures, functions, triggers. Deep knowledge of transactions, isolation, locking/concurrency and transactional integrity.
  • Performance tuning ownership: execution/query plan analysis, indexing strategies, partitioning, statistics management, and resource governance.
  • Build and operate ETL/ELT pipelines with SSIS and Azure data services (ADF): configurations, orchestration, idempotency, retries, error handling, logging, and lineage.
  • SSRS development: datasets, parameters, subscriptions, and deployments; version control and release processes.
  • Design scalable data architectures and apply data modeling fundamentals.
  • Good working knowledge of Azure cloud services relevant to data platforms and application hosting.
  • Implement data quality checks, auditing, alerts, monitoring, and recovery/runbooks. Instrument services with Application Insights and/or Extended Events/Query Store: logs, metrics, traces, health checks, dashboards, and SLO tracking.
  • Participate in and improve CI/CD for applications and databases: migrations/scripts, approvals, automated tests, quality gates, and release hygiene in Azure DevOps and collaborate in Agile delivery (Scrum/Kanban).
  • Strong documentation habits in Confluence (designs, decisions, runbooks); effective communication with Product, QA, Platform/Cloud, and Data/Analytics.
  • Support production operations, incident triage, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews; drive continuous improvements to performance, stability, and developer experience.

Desirable

  • CLR integration for specialized SQL Server workloads.
  • NoSQL experience (e.g., Cosmos DB, MongoDB, Redis) and Graph databases.
  • Exposure to Azure Data Factory/Synapse, Data Lake, and modern ETL/ELT patterns.
  • APIM knowledge and development (policies, products, subscriptions, rate limiting, tracing).
  • Applied AI integration: Hands-on experience adding AI features to .NET apps using Azure AI Foundry (prompt flows, model deployments) and LLMs/Azure OpenAI (RAG, function calling) plus Azure Cognitive Services for translation/localization.
  • Experience with PIM/DAM domains, workflows, and content modeling.

Soft Skills

Ownership mindset, clear communication with technical and nontechnical stakeholders, strong documentation habits, attention to detail, collaborative problem-solving, mentoring attitude, and a continuous improvement mindset.

Benefits Highlights:

  • Flexible work hours and a hybrid work environment
  • Discounts on our award-winning Electrolux products and services
  • Family-friendly benefits
  • Extensive learning opportunities and a flexible career path
