supporting 1,000+ automated campaigns, influencing $50M+ in ad spend. As an early-stage

startup, we move fast, build with ownership, and focus on impact over process.

The Role

We're looking for a Backend Engineer (3–4 years experience) who enjoys building scalable

systems, solving real problems, and taking ownership from design to production.

This role is ideal for someone who:

What You'll Work On

You'll be building and improving the core backend systems that power Maino AI:

• High-performance REST APIs (Java / Node.js / Python / Go)

• Integrations with external platforms (Ads APIs, internal services)

• Database design and optimisation for large-scale datasets

• Automation systems for real-time decision-making

• Debugging and improving production systems

• Internal tools to improve engineering productivity

Example problems you might solve:

• Preventing budget overspend across hundreds of live ad campaigns

• Generating actionable insights from billions of data points

• Scaling APIs handling millions of requests per month

• Integrating new ad platforms and data sourcesWhat We're Looking For

Must-Have Skills

• 3–4 years of professional backend development experience

• Strong proficiency in one backend language:

Java / Node.js / Python / Go

• Solid understanding of SQL, indexing, and query optimisation

• Experience designing and building REST APIs

• Familiarity with Git and basic cloud concepts (AWS/GCP/Azure)

• Experience shipping production features and maintaining them

Execution & Mindset

• Comfortable owning features end-to-end

• Able to debug issues and improve systems under real-world constraints

• Learn new tools and frameworks quickly

• Take initiative and work well with minimal supervision

• Focus on impact and outcomes, not just code

Nice to Have (Bonus)

• Experience with time-series databases

• Exposure to Ads APIs (Facebook, Google, etc.)

• Kafka, Redis, Docker, or Kubernetes

• Startup or fast-growth company experience
