Job Description

We are looking for a backend engineer with 2.5+ years of experience to design, build, and scale robust backend systems and APIs. You will collaborate closely with product and frontend teams to deliver high-performance, reliable, and secure services that power our platform.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
  • Build RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs using Node.js and Python.
  • Work on system architecture, data modelling, and performance optimisation.
  • Collaborate with frontend teams (React, Next.js ) for seamless integrations.
  • Manage and optimise SQL and NoSQL databases, ensuring data integrity.
  • Implement authentication, authorisation, and security best practices.
  • Deploy and manage backend services on AWS.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot production issues.

Requirements

  • 2.5+ years of backend development experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Node.js and/or Python.
  • Experience designing and building RESTful APIs.
  • Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.
  • Working knowledge of React, Next.js, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Experience with AWS and version control systems (Git).
  • Solid understanding of scalability, performance optimisation, and system design.

Good To Have

  • Experience with GraphQL.
  • Strong understanding of API design patterns and best practices.
  • Familiarity with data modelling and query optimisation.
  • Experience building high-throughput or low-latency systems.
  • Exposure to Domain-Driven Design (DDD) or clean architecture.
  • Understanding of data security and compliance concepts.
