non-profit organization committed to advancing rural development, climate resilience, and

ecosystem-based adaptation. As we scale our technology-driven initiatives, we are seeking

a Backend Developer (Python) to join our growing technology team.

We are looking for a skilled Backend Developer (Python) with hands-on experience in

building scalable backend systems. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in

FastAPI, be exceptional in SQL, and be capable of working with and managing multiple

databases.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs using Python and FastAPI
• Build scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services
• Write complex and optimized SQL queries, and database schemas
• Work with multiple databases (relational and/or NoSQL) and manage data consistency
• database design, indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning
• Integrate third-party services and APIs
• Implement authentication, authorization, and security best practices
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve backend and database-related issues

Required Qualifications & Skills

• 23 years of professional experience as a Backend Developer Strong proficiency in Python
• Hands-on experience with FastAPI (or similar frameworks like Flask/Django, with FastAPI preferred)
• Exceptional SQL skills (joins, subqueries, CTEs, optimization)
• Experience working with multiple databases, such as PostgreSQL / MySQL MongoDB (optional but preferred)
• Solid understanding of database design and normalization
• Knowledge of REST API design principles
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git)
• Understanding of async programming in Python
