Role Description

We are looking for a Backend Developer Intern with a strong foundation in Node.js, databases, and API development.

In this role, you will work closely with the engineering team to support backend services, build APIs, integrate databases, and contribute to system performance and security. This is a paid 3-month internship and a great opportunity for someone seeking hands-on experience in fintech and Web3 applications within a fast-paced startup environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and maintaining backend APIs and microservices using Node.js
• Work with databases such as MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or other SQL/NoSQL systems
• Support integrations with third-party APIs and blockchain/Web3 services
• Collaborate with frontend and mobile teams to ensure seamless API integration
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable backend code under guidance from senior developers
• Contribute to QA testing, debugging, and performance optimization
• Assist in configuring CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and deployment processes
• Follow best practices for data security, authentication, and backend architecture
• Research and experiment with new backend tools and frameworks to improve performance

Must-Have Skills & Experience

• Strong programming fundamentals in JavaScript or TypeScript
• Hands-on experience with Node.js and Express.js (projects, coursework, or internships)
• Basic understanding of databases such as MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or Firebase
• Knowledge of REST APIs and backend communication with frontend/mobile applications
• Familiarity with Git/GitHub and version control workflows
• Strong problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn in a startup environment
