At Graphy, we power thousands of independent educators and creators who run their entire teaching businesses on our platform — courses, live sessions, payments, mobile apps, AI tutors. Every API you write touches a real creator's livelihood and a learner's experience.

We're looking for a Backend Developer who wants to build systems at meaningful scale and is genuinely curious about where AI is taking software engineering.

What you'll actually work on :

• Build and own backend services that handle high-throughput traffic across web, Android, and iOS clients.
• Design APIs and data models for new product surfaces — think creator monetization, AI-powered content tools, live learning, and more.
• Optimize queries, indexes, and data access patterns on production systems serving millions of requests.
• Debug real production issues end-to-end — from infrastructure logs to slow queries to client-side traces.
• Integrate LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic) into product features, with attention to latency, cost, and caching.
• Collaborate closely with mobile, web, and product engineers — most features cut across the stack.
• Review code, raise the bar on engineering quality, and help shape how we build.

What we expect you to bring:

• 2-3 years of backend experience shipping production systems (not just prototypes or coursework).
• Strong fundamentals in at least one modern backend language and framework — we care more about depth than the specific stack.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design tradeoffs.
• Comfortable working with databases — you understand indexes, query patterns, and when to denormalize.
• Solid grasp of REST API design, HTTP, authentication, and basic distributed systems concepts.
• You write clean code, but you also know when to ship and iterate.
• You debug from first principles — logs, metrics, reproductions — not by guessing.

Bonus points for:

• Experience integrating LLMs into real products (prompt design, caching, streaming, evals).
• Familiarity with containerization, orchestration, and observability tooling.
• Worked with payment systems, subscriptions, or anything involving money and reconciliation.
• Event-driven architectures and message queues at non-trivial scale.
• Open source contributions or side projects you're proud of.
