About the Role

We are looking for a Backend Developer with strong Java and Spring Boot capabilities to help build, maintain, and scale our core APIs and services. You will work on the systems that power Zillout, including data models, business logic, integrations, and the backend infrastructure that supports our platform.

We are not focused on a fixed number of years of experience. If you have strong fundamentals and can write solid, production-grade code, we would be glad to speak with you.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs using Java Spring Boot
• Work with PostgreSQL to design schemas, write queries, and optimize database performance
• Collaborate with frontend engineers to define and deliver clean API contracts
• Write well-structured, tested, and documented backend code
• Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to technical decisions
• Identify bottlenecks, debug production issues, and improve overall system reliability
• Follow secure coding practices and contribute to a high-quality codebase

Requirements

• Strong understanding of Java and the Spring Boot ecosystem, including Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, and Spring Security
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL or another relational database
• Strong understanding of designing and building RESTful APIs
• Knowledge of object-oriented programming principles, design patterns, and clean code practices
• Familiarity with Git and standard development workflows such as pull requests, code reviews, and branching

Nice to Have

• Experience with Hibernate or JPA for ORM
• Familiarity with authentication and authorization patterns such as JWT and OAuth2
• Exposure to message queues or event-driven architecture, such as Kafka or RabbitMQ
• Experience with Docker and containerized deployments
• Understanding of database migration tools such as Flyway or Liquibase
• Prior experience working on multi-tenant SaaS or marketplace platforms
