The company is RBI-authorized as a payment aggregator and compliant with SEBI, RBI, and UIDAI frameworks. Backed by investors including Groww and Rainmatter, it operates with a team of 90 people.

Position Overview

The company is hiring 2–3 backend engineers across its revenue-critical product pods — Payments, KYC, and Account Aggregator (AA). Seat assignment is determined at offer based on candidate domain expertise and current pod priority. Engineers own workstreams end-to-end: design, build, ship to dates, and operate in production. Raising the bar through design docs, code reviews, and mentoring junior engineers is a core expectation, not optional.

Role & Responsibilities

• Own committed workstreams end-to-end within the assigned pod — from system design through shipping and production operation.
• Payments seat: contribute to payment orchestrator architecture (Switch, Collect-Console, card mandates, subscriptions, UPI-based OTM PG); prototype on research-track problems in collections and agentic checkout.
• KYC seat: build compliance-grade identity verification APIs and SDK surfaces within CKYC, KRA, and UIDAI regulatory constraints without sacrificing shipping velocity.
• AA seat: design and build the loan underwriting and monitoring rule engine; lead BSA revamp; extend into FIU/FIP consent flows and PFM/AA APIs.
• Apply rigorous systems thinking across all seats — idempotency, reconciliation, partial-failure handling, and auditability in high-stakes financial flows.
• Drive design documentation and code reviews; actively pair with and mentor junior engineers on the pod bench.
• Propose and ship improvements proactively — identify gaps in the system before they are specced and drive them to completion.

Must Have Criteria

• 3–7 years of backend engineering experience spanning service design, data modeling, API design, and production failure handling.
• Demonstrated range across multiple backend domains — single-domain-only profiles will not be considered; breadth is a hard requirement.
• Strong systems thinking in high-stakes financial flows: idempotency, reconciliation, partial-failure reasoning, and auditability must be practiced, not theoretical.
• Track record of proposing and shipping something that was not specced — evidence of independent technical conviction.
• Comfortable operating without direct production access, using platform tooling and observability for debugging and incident response.
• Domain depth in at least ONE of: payment rails (UPI, mandate flows, orchestration), identity verification (KYC/KYB, CKYC/KRA/UIDAI), or lending decisioning/data modeling — drives seat assignment.

Nice to Have

• Hands-on experience with NPCI/UPI rails, card mandate flows, or payment switch architecture.
• Prior work within UIDAI, CKYC, or KRA ecosystems at compliance grade.
• Experience building rule engines or decisioning systems for loan underwriting or credit monitoring.
• Demonstrated mentoring of junior engineers in a fast-moving, under-resourced team context.
• Exposure to Account Aggregator framework, FIU/FIP consent flows, or BSA-related data pipelines.
