Azure Financial Reporting Data engineer

Your role:

We're seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Data Engineer with at least 2 years of hands-on experience in building and managing data solutions using Microsoft Azure, SQL, and Power BI, primarily focused on delivering solutions within the finance domian. This role also involves mentoring and supervising a junior Power BI developer, ensuring high-quality dashboard delivery and data visualization standards,as well as continually exploring new technoligies to ensure the team is always using the best practivce and delivery tools. This is a hands-on role based in India but requiring extensive involvement and collaboration with colleagues across VTBA and the broader Atlas Copco Group.

Main Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes using Azure Data Factory and related services
• Write optimized SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and reporting
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports for various business units
• Supervise and guide a junior Power BI developer, ensuring adherence to best practices and timely delivery
• Monitor data quality, integrity, and performance across systems
• Implement data governance and security protocols in line with organizational standards

To succeed, you will need:

Work Experience:
At least 2 years experience in a similar position within a complex multi-national organisation.

Skills / Qualification:

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Azure (Data Factory, Synapse, Blob Storage, etc.)
• Solid experience with SQL Server and writing complex queries
• Hands-on experience with Power BI, including DAX, data modelling, and dashboard creation
• Ability to mentor and supervise junior team members effectively
• Familiarity with version control tools (e.g., Git) and agile development practices
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
