This role is for an on-site engineering position based in India, focused on designing, provisioning and operating Azure-based developer environments.

About The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Azure DevBox engineer to own developer workstation lifecycle, image management, automation and governance for enterprise teams. You will partner with developer squads, IT operations and security to deliver fast, secure, and cost-efficient developer environments that scale to meet team demand.
Role & Responsibilities
- Design, provision and maintain Azure DevBox developer environments and golden images; manage lifecycle and versioning for multiple project templates.
- Implement Infrastructure-as-Code and automation (Bicep/ARM/Terraform, PowerShell, Azure CLI, GitHub Actions) to provision and update DevBox resources reliably.
- Integrate DevBox workstations with Azure Active Directory/Entra ID, Microsoft Intune and RBAC to enforce secure access, conditional access and compliance policies.
- Monitor environment health and performance using Azure Monitor/Log Analytics; troubleshoot VM, networking and workspace issues to minimise developer downtime.
- Drive cost optimisation, tagging, autoscaling and governance for developer environments; implement policies and guardrails to control spend and access.
- Work cross-functionally with developers and platform teams to onboard projects, define image contents, and document provisioning and reuse patterns.

Qualifications
- Proven experience managing Azure IaaS and developer VM environments for engineering teams (on-site in India).
- Strong automation and scripting background (PowerShell/Azure CLI) and experience with image creation and distribution.
- Familiarity with governance, RBAC, conditional access, and cost-control practices in Azure.
