Job Description:
- We are seeking an experienced Azure Architect to design, deploy, and manage a brand-new Azure tenant and associated infrastructure for our project.
- This project involves setting up a brand new Azure tenant with all core services (e.g., networking services, security services, VNets, etc.) and Azure services needed for solution (e.g., AKS,etc.), including disaster recovery (DR) capabilities.
- The Architect will be required to size and provision the Azure environments to ensure high performance and high availability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement a new Azure tenant from scratch, including all necessary configurations and governance policies.
- Design the Azure environment for the required performance and availability parameters
- Set up and configure the following Azure services listed (but not limited) below:
- Azure Traffic Manager
- Azure DDoS Protection
- Azure Monitor
- Sentinel
- Backup Service
- Azure Site Recovery (for DR environment)
- Front Door
- Azure Firewall
- Microsoft Defender
- Azure Express Route
- Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
- Azure API Management
- Redis Cache
- Entra ID
- Azure Key Vault
- Azure Blob Storage
- Azure Cosmos DB
- Azure Event Hubs
- Azure App Service + Azure VM Scale Sets
- Azure Functions
- Azure Logic Apps

- Establish a DR environment using Azure Site Recovery and Backup Service to ensure high availability and data integrity.
- Define and implement security best practices, including Azure DDoS Protection, Azure Firewall, Microsoft Defender, and Azure Key Vault for secrets management.
- Optimize network performance with Azure Traffic Manager, Front Door, and Azure Express Route.
- Monitor and manage the infrastructure using Azure Monitor, Sentinel, and Log Analytics, ensuring proactive issue resolution.
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate AKS, API Management, Event Hubs, Functions, Logic Apps, and Cosmos DB for claims processing workflows.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare data standards using Azure Health Data Services (FHIR) and leverage Power BI for analytics.
- Provide documentation, architecture diagrams, and knowledge transfer to support team operations.
- Participate in post-deployment support and optimization, addressing performance and scalability needs.
Experience:
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in cloud architecture, with at least 3-5 years specifically in Azure.
- Proven hands-on experience setting up new Azure tenants and configuring multiple Azure services (as listed above).
- At least 2-3 years of experience in designing and implementing DR environments using Azure Site Recovery.
- Experience with healthcare or claims processing systems is a plus.
Technical Skills:
- Expert-level knowledge of Azure infrastructure, including tenant setup, networking (Traffic Manager, Express Route), and security (DDoS Protection, Firewall, Defender).
- Hands-on experience with AKS, API Management, Cosmos DB, Event Hubs, Functions, Logic Apps, and Blob Storage.
- Proficiency in Entra ID for identity management and Key Vault for secure key management.
- Experience with monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, Sentinel, Log Analytics) and analytics (Power BI).
- Understanding of health data standards (e.g., FHIR) and integration with Azure Health Data Services.
- Experience with Redis Cache, App Service, VM Scale Sets, and Front Door for performance optimization.
Certifications:
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305) or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
