Description
We are seeking an experienced AWS Platform Engineer to design, build, and maintain our cloud infrastructure. This role focuses on leveraging Kubernetes and Terraform to deliver scalable, secure, and resilient environments that support our applications and services. You will work closely with development, DevOps, and security teams to ensure our platform meets the demands of a rapidly growing organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Deploy, configure, and maintain Kubernetes clusters (EKS or self-managed) to support containerised workloads the candidate must have kubectl and helm tooling experience
Design, implement, and manage infrastructure on AWS using Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Develop automated CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies for cloud-native applications.
Ensure platform security, compliance, and observability by integrating monitoring, logging, and alerting tools.
Collaborate with developers to optimise workloads for performance and cost efficiency.
Troubleshoot infrastructure and platform issues, providing root cause analysis and preventive solutions.
Drive continuous improvement in platform reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
Kubernetes experience is mandatory
AWS Certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate/Professional).
Knowledge of cost optimisation strategies for AWS.
Experience in multi-account and multi-region AWS architectures.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Proven experience in AWS infrastructure engineering in a production environment.
Strong hands-on expertise with Terraform (HCL), including module design and state management.
Solid experience with Kubernetes (preferably Amazon EKS), including Kubectl, Helm, RBAC, and networking.
Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Bash, Go).
Strong understanding of cloud networking, security best practices, and IAM.
Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch)
Experience with RDS, CloudFront / AWS WAF and lambda @edge functions
Ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical people.
Ability to work under pressure and manage conflicting priorities to tight deadlines.
