AVP, Underwriting Operations

We are inviting applications for the a AVP in Underwriting Operations for a large-scale underwriting services engagement supporting a leading Client portfolio.
This is a senior operating leadership role where you will own end-to-end underwriting service delivery, act as a strategic partner to underwriting stakeholders, and drive operational rigor, transformation, and scale within a complex outsourced model.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end underwriting service delivery across pre-issuance (rating, quoting, binders) and post-issuance (policy issuance, endorsements, cancellations) processes
- Lead and manage a 180-230 member underwriting operations team across multiple delivery geographies supporting US insurance portfolios
- Ensure consistent SLA/KPI performance with zero-surprise delivery, especially during renewal peaks and reinsurance cycles
- Drive standardization and convergence under a Center of Excellence operating model
- Serve as the primary point of contact for underwriting operations stakeholders in India
- Partner with internal digital, RPA, and Six Sigma teams to deliver committed efficiency and transformation initiatives
- Mentor and develop a niche underwriting talent pool with strong focus on capability building and career progression
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline
- Strong P&C Insurance Underwriting operations experience in a BPO/KPO environment
- Proven leadership experience managing 200300 FTEs in complex underwriting operations
- Demonstrated ability to manage renewal surges and high-volume underwriting cycles
- Strong operational, people management, and stakeholder management skills
- Digitally savvy with comfort in data-driven operations
