Aquis Search has partnered with a leading global investment management firm in their search for an experienced AVP - Talent Acquisition in Pune.
This is a high-visibility individual contributor role within the India People team, offering the chance to shape hiring strategy and partner closely with senior business stakeholders across global functions.
The Role
As AVP – Talent Acquisition, you will own end-to-end recruitment delivery for the Pune entity. You will be the primary point of contact for hiring managers across business lines in India and will partner with global TA leadership to translate firm-wide hiring strategy into local execution. This is a hands-on role, you will personally run senior mandates while governing the RPO engagement to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with India leadership and the global TA function to design and execute the professional hiring strategy for the Pune entity.
- Own vendor governance of the existing RPO engagement - commercials, SLAs, invoicing, performance reviews, escalations, and third-party agency spend tracking.
- Act as the single point of accountability for recruitment outcomes in India, ensuring the RPO team delivers against agreed service levels and hiring plans.
- Personally run senior and leadership-level mandates end-to-end; build proactive pipelines and targeted outreach campaigns for priority business areas.
- Build dashboards, KPIs, and scorecards to measure funnel health, RPO productivity, and hiring quality; drive decisions through data.
- Serve as the key escalation point for hiring managers and stakeholders on all recruitment matters.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives - interview training, internal mobility frameworks, recruitment marketing, candidate experience, and onboarding.
- Strengthen the firm's digital employer brand locally and identify opportunities to deepen candidate engagement in the India market.
- Manage search firm panels - empanelment, commercial negotiations, contracting, and quality oversight.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in recruitment within financial services, asset management, banking, or professional services.
- Proven experience managing and governing an RPO partnership is a good to have.
- Hands-on exposure to hiring for Asset Management, Wealth Management, or Investment Management mandates is strongly preferred.
- Strong individual-contributor track record of delivering senior and complex mandates with a client- and candidate-first orientation.
- Comfort with modern sourcing approaches - digital channels, video-led assessments, AI-enabled sourcing and screening platforms.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills; able to operate credibly across senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Commercial mindset, able to balance quality, speed, and cost.
- Working knowledge of the broader HR function.
- Hands-on experience with Workday Recruiting is required.
- Strong project management instincts with a bias for outcomes.
