Role Summary
Provides, builds, and maintains data solutions to meet the needs of the enterprise. Helps ensure those solutions can be scaled appropriately. Under broad management direction, works at high authority limits on assignments reflecting a high degree of technical complexity and coordination. Possesses a high level of technical knowledge and skills including product and industry. Recognized as a technical expert in a field providing technical guidance, assistance, and training to lower level associates. Typically requires formal review and approval for promotion. May manage a function as an individual contributor. May have regional or zone scope. Typically the highest level of career progression, excluding management.
Job Responsibilities
- Independently prototypes/develops data solutions of the highest complexity to meet the needs of the organization and business customers.
- Exhibits a mastery over multiple domains.
- Uses best practices in designing proof-of-concept solutions that meet technical and business requirements, with an ability to perform iterative solution testing to ensure specifications are met.
- Provides technical guidance to team members of all skill levels.
- Designs and develops data solutions that enables effective self-service data consumption, and can describe their value to the customer.
- Collaborates with stakeholders in defining metrics that are impactful to the business.
- Prioritizes efforts based on customer value.
- Can lead a Project/Agile team.
- Sets expectations of own deliverables of the highest complexity and communicates to a senior audience how designs meet business needs.
- Can create roadmaps for data solutions.
- Can turn vague ideas or problems into a data product strategy.
- Influences strategic thinking across the team and the broader organization.
- Maintains proof-of-concepts and prototype data solutions, and handles any assessment of their viability and scalability, with own team or in partnership with IT.
- Working with IT, assists in building robust systems focusing on long-term and ongoing maintenance and support.
- Ensures data solutions include deliverables required to achieve high quality data.
- Displays an advanced understanding of complex multi-tier, multi-platform systems, and applies principles of metadata, lineage, business definitions, compliance, and data security to project work.
- Can lead a complex Business Intelligence project.
- Demonstrates a command of new technologies as needed to progress initiatives.
- Influences across the team, as well as the broader organization.
Qualifications
- Strong written and oral communication skills required.
- Bachelor`s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline preferred. Master`s in same or related disciplines strongly preferred.
- 5-6 years experience in coding for data management, data warehousing, or other data environments, including, but not limited to, working in SQL implementation, ETL, Java, scripting languages (Python, Perl, Shell), and the Hadoop stack.
- 5-6 years experience as developer with top quadrant Business Intelligence tools.
Required Skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Experience in coding for data management, data warehousing, or other data environments.
- Proficiency in NoSQL implementation, ETL, Java, scripting languages (Python, Perl, Shell), and the Hadoop stack.
- Experience with top quadrant Business Intelligence tools.
Preferred Skills
