This opportunity is for an on-site Automation Test Engineer (Playwright) role based in India, focused on building robust end-to-end test automation for customer-facing web platforms.
Primary title: Automation Test Engineer (Playwright).
Role & Responsibilities
- Design, implement and maintain scalable end-to-end Playwright test suites using TypeScript/JavaScript to validate web application flows.
- Build reusable test libraries, page objects and helper utilities to reduce flakiness and accelerate test development.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) and ensure reliable test execution on each build.
- Author and execute API test cases for backend validation and coordinate APIUI test coverage for full-stack scenarios.
- Investigate, triage and report defects with clear reproduction steps; collaborate with developers to drive timely fixes and regression prevention.
- Champion automation best practicesflakiness reduction, test data strategy, reporting and observabilityand mentor peers on quality engineering.
Skills & Qualifications
- Must-Have:
- Expertise with Playwright for E2E web automation using TypeScript or JavaScript
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript and experience with Node.js tooling
- Hands-on experience designing maintainable test automation frameworks and reusable components
- Practical knowledge of REST API testing, assertions and test data management
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and working with Git
- Comfortable debugging browser automation issues, logs and writing concise defect reports
- Preferred:
- Experience with Selenium WebDriver
- Familiarity with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber
- Knowledge of Docker and container-based test environments
