Job description

We are looking for an experienced Automation Engineer having expertise in PLC, HMI & SCADA Programming and design, command over all programming languages as per IEC 61131-3 and having worked on HMI & SCADA programming, design and development.

Qualification and Experience:

• B.Tech /B.E from a reputed University in Electrical / Electronics / Electronics & Communication engineering.
• 5-10 years of relevant work experience in Engineering Programming, Design & Development
• Knowledge of RTU/ PLC HW /SW Components.
• Should be well conversant in SCADA, ADMS, OMS, and OTS solutions
• knowledge of the Substation Automation System and Renewable Energy Automation is added Advantage.

Role & Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

• SCADA System Design and Development:

Designing, configuring, and programming SCADA systems to monitor and control industrial processes.

• PLC Programming:

Developing PLC logic and programs using various programming languages as per IEC61131-3 like Ladder Logic, Function Block Diagram, and Structured Text.

• HMI Development:

Creating user-friendly interfaces (HMIs) for operators to interact with and monitor the automation systems.

• System Integration:

Integrating various components like RTU, PLC, HMI, Network Switches (L2/L3), Firewall, GPS Clock, IED and Meters into a cohesive automation system.

• Testing and Commissioning:

Conducting thorough testing and commissioning of the automation system to ensure proper functionality and performance.

• Troubleshooting and Maintenance:

Identifying and resolving issues in the automation system, including hardware and software problems.

• Documentation:

Creating and maintaining detailed documentation of the automation system, including design specifications, programming code, testing results and Reports.

• Communication and Collaboration:

Working effectively with other engineers, technicians, and stakeholders to ensure successful project completion.

Required Skills:

• SCADA Software: Proficiency in SCADA software platforms like COPADATA Zenon, PCVue etc.
• PLC Programming: Strong knowledge of PLC programming languages and experience with Major RTU / PLC / DCS manufacturers.
• Industrial Communication Protocols: Familiarity with protocols like Modbus, DNP3, IEC 104, IEC 61850 and OPC etc.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in industrial automation systems.
• Electrical and Instrumentation Knowledge: Understanding of electrical schematics, instrumentation, and control systems.
• HMI Development: Experience in developing HMIs for operator interface and monitoring.
• Analytical and Organizational Skills: Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate system design and implementation.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of Database Management: Familiarity with databases like SQL / MongoDB / Postgress is often beneficial.
