An Automation Engineer III is responsible for designing, developing, and standardizing infrastructure automation solutions with a strong focus on
VMware-based environments. This role will drive automation maturity by building reusable, scalable automation assets using
Ansible and Python, enabling faster and reliable infrastructure provisioning and operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and standardize automation frameworks and reusable assets using Ansible & Python
- Build automation solutions for VMware infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management
- Define best practices for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management
- Automate deployment, remediation, and operational tasks across infrastructure environments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (cloud, network, storage) to deliver end-to-end automation solutions
Core Technical Skills (Must Have)
- Strong experience with Ansible (playbooks, roles, collections, AWX/Automation Controller)
- Proficiency in Python scripting and automation development
- Solid understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles
- Experience with Linux/Unix system administration
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, coding agents) to improve productivity and code quality
Good To Have Skills
- Exposure to Apache Airflow or similar workflow orchestration tools
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus
- Hands-on experience with VMware ecosystem:
- VMware-based infrastructure provisioning & lifecycle management
Education
- High School Diploma or regional equivalent required
- Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in field related to role. At the manager's discretion, additional relevant experience may substitute degree requirement
Experience
- 8+ years of experience in the field of role required
