The role focuses on developing, implementing and supporting intelligent automation solutions across on-premises and cloud infrastructure environments, combining traditional infrastructure automation with emerging Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) technologies.

This opportunity is ideal for early-career technology professionals with hands-on exposure to Python, Ansible, Terraform, infrastructure automation, APIs and DevOps tools, along with a strong interest in Generative AI, intelligent operations, observability and enterprise automation.

Role Overview

As an Automation & AI Engineer, you will work closely with senior automation engineers, infrastructure specialists, product owners and operational teams to identify automation opportunities and develop scalable solutions across enterprise IT environments.

You will support the design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance of automation scripts, workflows and integrations covering on-premises and cloud infrastructure.

The role combines infrastructure automation, scripting, cloud technologies, AI/ML integration, API development, monitoring and observability, providing exposure to modern enterprise automation platforms.

You will also contribute to the integration of automation solutions with enterprise technologies such as ServiceNow, Dynatrace and emerging AI frameworks, including Model Context Protocol (MCP).

The role requires a good understanding of IT infrastructure and operations, a problem-solving mindset and a willingness to learn emerging automation and AI technologies while working in a collaborative DevOps-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Automation & Development

• Develop, test and maintain automation scripts, workflows and playbooks for on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
• Support automation across Compute, Storage, Backup, Network and Operating System environments.
• Identify repetitive and manual infrastructure activities suitable for automation.
• Develop and maintain automation solutions using technologies such as Python, Ansible, Terraform and Power Automate.
• Assist in translating operational requirements into practical automation use cases.
• Work with senior engineers to design and implement small-to-medium automation solutions.
• Support infrastructure-as-code and configuration management initiatives.
• Troubleshoot automation scripts and workflows and implement improvements.
• Ensure automation solutions follow established engineering standards, documentation practices and operational requirements.

AI, Machine Learning & Intelligent Automation

• Support the integration of existing AI/ML models with infrastructure automation workflows.
• Use APIs to connect AI-enabled capabilities with existing infrastructure tools and enterprise systems.
• Explore practical applications of Generative AI and intelligent automation within IT operations.
• Gain exposure to Cognitive Services, Machine Learning concepts and GenAI frameworks.
• Support the development and integration of AI-powered automation workflows under senior engineering guidance.
• Explore the use of Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers for connecting AI and automation capabilities with enterprise tools.
• Assist in building solutions that improve operational efficiency, reduce manual intervention and support intelligent infrastructure operations.

Monitoring, Observability & Enterprise Integration

• Support infrastructure and application health monitoring using observability platforms such as Dynatrace.
• Assist in translating infrastructure alerts and monitoring events into automated workflows and triggers.
• Support automation integration with enterprise platforms such as ServiceNow.
• Work with REST APIs to connect automation scripts with enterprise IT systems.
• Gain exposure to ServiceNow Incident, Change and Request Management processes.
• Assist in developing automation capabilities that enhance incident response and operational support.
• Collaborate with monitoring-tool owners, infrastructure teams and platform specialists.

DevOps, Cloud & Automation Tooling

• Work with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines supporting automation development and deployment.
• Gain practical exposure to Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps and related engineering toolchains.
• Support automation across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Participate in testing, validation and deployment of automation workflows.
• Assist in integrating infrastructure automation with existing enterprise platforms.
• Apply basic security, data privacy and compliance considerations when developing automation solutions.
• Explore emerging automation frameworks and contribute to technical evaluations and proof-of-concept initiatives.

Collaboration, Documentation & Continuous Improvement

• Collaborate with infrastructure Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), product owners and senior automation engineers.
• Participate in technical discussions and working sessions to understand automation requirements.
• Document scripts, workflows, configurations and implementation procedures.
• Maintain clear technical documentation for knowledge transfer and operational support.
• Track assigned automation activities and escalate technical blockers promptly.
• Provide progress updates and contribute to stakeholder reporting.
• Demonstrate completed automation solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Participate in automation and AI training programmes, technical workshops and knowledge-sharing activities.
• Continuously improve automation quality, maintainability and operational effectiveness.

Must-Have Skills

We are looking for professionals with foundational hands-on experience in IT automation and a strong interest in AI-driven infrastructure operations.

Infrastructure & Automation

• Basic working knowledge of Data Centre infrastructure and IT Operations.
• Understanding of Compute, Storage, Backup, Network and Operating System technologies.
• Exposure to infrastructure automation and scripting.
• Good programming or scripting knowledge, particularly Python, Java or JavaScript.
• Familiarity with automation scripts, workflows and playbooks.
• Knowledge of REST APIs and basic system integration concepts.
• Foundational understanding of cloud and on-premises infrastructure environments.

DevOps & Automation Tools

• Working knowledge of, or willingness to learn, Ansible and Terraform.

• Basic understanding of ITIL and DevOps practices.

AI & Intelligent Automation
