We're growing and looking for an Interior Design Draftsman who's creative, detail-oriented, and eager to learn in a fast-paced design environment.
Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Interior Design Draftsman to join our design team. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming conceptual sketches and interior designs into detailed technical drawings, construction documents, and specifications. You will work closely with Interior Designers and Project Managers to ensure that every aesthetic detail is accurately documented for fabrication and construction
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Documentation: Produce comprehensive sets of construction drawings, including floor plans, reflected ceiling plans (RCP), electrical/lighting layouts, elevations, and sections.
- Detailing: Create highly detailed drawings for custom furniture, cabinetry, and joinery, ensuring they are ready for workshop production.
- Site Surveying: Assist in on-site measurements and as-built surveys of existing spaces to ensure base plans are 100% accurate.
- Material Specifications: Assist in documenting finishes, hardware, and fixtures within schedules and specifications booklets.
- Revisions: Manage and update drawing sets throughout the design process to reflect client changes or site conditions.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Degree or Diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or Drafting.
- Software Proficiency: Expert-level knowledge of AutoCAD (2D) is essential. Proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, or Rhino is highly preferred.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of interior construction methods, materials, and building codes.
- Detail-Oriented: An eagle eye for line weights, dimensions, and annotations.
- Communication: Ability to explain technical constraints to non-technical team members.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in a similar role within an interior design or architectural firm.
