The Lead CAD Automation Developer is responsible for end-to-end development of the automation framework. This includes implementing 3D automation in Autodesk Inventor, 2D automation in AutoCAD via AutoLISP, and integrating all logic into a unified VB.NET parameter engine with SQL backend.
Required Skills & Experience- Strong hands-on experience with VB.NET / .NET Framework for desktop automation applications.
- Expertise in Autodesk Inventor API for parametric 3D modeling and assembly automation.
- Experience with AutoCAD .NET API and AutoLISP for 2D drawing automation.
- Practical knowledge of SQL, relational data modeling, and stored procedures for rule/configuration storage.
- Experience working on CAD automation projects, preferably in mechanical engineering domains.
- Understanding of structural steel components such as columns, gantry beams, bracings, base plates, and gussets.
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, and performance optimization skills.
- Experience working with version control systems (e.g., Git, Azure DevOps) and structured release processes.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work closely with engineers, drafters, and project managers.
