Job Description – Audit Manager
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Audit Manager to lead and manage statutory audit engagements for a diverse portfolio of clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the Companies Act, regulatory compliance, and auditing standards, while demonstrating a commitment to client satisfaction, clear communication, and team leadership. Key Responsibilities:
Statutory Audit & Assurance:
- Lead and manage statutory audits under the Companies Act and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Plan audit strategy, allocate resources, and execute audits in compliance with auditing standards (Ind AS/IGAAP/IFRS where applicable).
- Review working papers, audit findings, and ensure proper documentation in line with firm and regulatory standards.
- Ensure timely completion of audit engagements, including finalization and signing of financial statements.
Regulatory Compliance (Companies Act):
- Ensure all audits are conducted in strict compliance with the Companies Act, 2013 and related regulations.
- Review and advise clients on financial statement disclosures, board reporting, and other statutory requirements.
- Stay abreast of changes in regulatory requirements and ensure integration into audit methodologies and client deliverables.
Client Relationship Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client engagements, maintaining high levels of client satisfaction and trust.
- Understand client businesses, key risks, and expectations to deliver tailored audit services.
- Address client concerns promptly and professionally, and identify opportunities to add value beyond the audit scope.
Communication & Reporting:
- Communicate effectively with clients, audit teams, and internal stakeholders throughout the audit process.
- Present audit findings and recommendations clearly in audit reports and management letters.
- Facilitate clear and transparent communication between teams and clients to avoid misunderstandings and enhance audit quality.
Team Management & Leadership:
- Supervise, coach, and mentor junior staff and audit associates.
- Review performance, provide feedback, and assist in the professional development of team members.
- Promote a culture of excellence, integrity, and continuous improvement within the team.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- CA (Chartered Accountant) qualification with 5+ years of post-qualification experience, including at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Proven experience in handling statutory audits of mid to large-sized companies.
- Strong knowledge of Companies Act, 2013, Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS), and Auditing Standards.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – both written and verbal.
- Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple engagements effectively.
Preferred Experience:
- Exposure to listed companies or experience in a mid-to-large CA firm.
- Understanding of tax implications, internal controls, and financial due diligence is a plus.
