This Position reports to:
Sen. Risk & Internal Controls ManagerJoin the Electrification (EL) Business Area as an Assurance and Internal Controls (IC) Operations Manager. Serve as a trusted accounting expert and advisor to the EL business, leading balance sheet reviews and improving accounting and controls capability across the organization. You will support and foster the ESG assurance framework, coordinate assurance processes for ICoFR, and act as a key interface between the business, finance teams, and external auditors.
Lead, plan, coordinate, and perform balance sheet reviews across EL subsidiaries to ensure financial statements are accurate and compliant with relevant accounting standards.
Lead the development and implementation of ESG assurance frameworks, methodologies, and controls for the EL business as BA Internal Control lead, aligned with ABB's integrated assurance approach and ESG reporting requirements.
Serve as a main global speaking partner to external auditors for the EL Business Area, providing technical guidance on accounting, internal controls, and assurance matters.
Design and deliver training on accounting, internal controls, ESG assurance, and risk topics to enhance knowledge and maturity across EL business and lead countries.
Act as the go-to accounting expert for the EL business on accounting-specific topics, including the application of US-GAAP principles, concepts, and procedures.
Support the BA IC Manager in enhancing the internal control environment monitor and oversee compliance with Integrated Assurance and related IC tasks.
Participate in global Assurance, Risk and Internal Controls initiatives and support EL Business initiatives from an IC perspective, including potential assignment as IC Manager for an EL Lead Country.
Support assurance processes around financial reporting and drive organizational change through continuous improvement initiatives.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field advanced degree (MBA, MSc) preferred CPA, CIA or CISA and ESG certifications (GRI, CDP, SASB) highly desirable.
Minimum 8+ years of experience in audit, assurance, risk or internal controls, preferably in a corporate environment and/or Big4 consulting firm.
Sound knowledge of ESG frameworks, standards, regulatory requirements, and reporting guidelines proven experience designing and implementing ESG controls is a plus.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, preferably US-GAAP experience advising business stakeholders and external parties on accounting topics.
Solid SAP understanding and proficiency in MS Office experience with Power BI, Celonis, data analytics or continuous control monitoring is a plus.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with ability to influence and engage diverse stakeholders at all levels, including external auditors proven ability to deliver training and drive organizational change.
Strong organizational and time management skills ability to prioritize and meet deadlines effectively while working both independently and in cross-functional teams.
