Role Objective
The Finance Manager will lead the firm's financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic oversight across multiple ongoing projects. Supported by a Junior Accountant for day-to-day activities, this role focuses on reviewing financial data, strengthening internal controls, tracking project-wise financial performance, and providing leadership with clear, actionable financial insights.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Oversight & Compliance
- Supervise and review all accounting entries posted by the Junior Accountant.
- Ensure monthly closing, reconciliations, and ledger accuracy.
- Oversee GST, TDS, PF/ESI, Professional Tax, and statutory filings.
- Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits.
- Maintain statutory registers and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
2. Project Accounting & Revenue Management
- Monitor project-wise revenue, expenses, profitability, and cash flows.
- Review and finalize client invoices (milestones, variation orders, revisions).
- Track outstanding payments, collections, and update leadership regularly
- Preparation and verification of consultant POs, work orders, and bills.
3. Vendor, Consultant & Payment Management
- Review vendor and consultant invoices processed by the Junior Accountant.
- Approve payments after due verification and ensure orderly reconciliation.
- Track advances, retentions, and consultant agreements related to projects.
4. Payroll & Employee-Related Accounts
- Review payroll inputs processed by the HR Manager and ensure accuracy.
- Oversee reimbursements, travel claims, and employee advances.
- Ensure regulatory compliance of the Gratuity Trust and employee payouts.
5. Budgeting, MIS & Financial Planning
- Prepare and review monthly MIS: revenue, expenses, cash flow, project P&L.
- Assist leadership in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Provide insights and financial advice to support strategic decisions.
6. Internal Controls & Process Improvements
- Strengthen internal control systems, accounting SOPs, and audit trails.
- Mentor the Junior Accountant and ensure systematic accounting practices.
- Identify process gaps and implement improvements for speed and accuracy.
Skills & Experience Required
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Commerce or Finance; CA Inter preferred.
- 612 years of experience in accounting; experience in architecture/engineering/consulting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, statutory compliance, and accounting standards.
- Proficiency in Tally ERP / Zoho Books / similar platforms.
- Excellent Excel and MIS reporting skills. Strong leadership, communication, and analytical abilities
