Amazon Now is one of India's fastest-growing quick commerce platforms, and our Last Mile (LM) network is the engine that powers every delivery. We are looking for a curious, detail-oriented Assistant Business Analyst to join the Amazon Now LM team, to build the data insight and reporting backbone that will drive cost and performance decisions across our 1P and 3P last mile channels.
In this role, you will own data aggregation, reporting, and insight generation across key LM metrics - including cost per delivery (CPD), rate cards, payout structures, and Delivery Partner performance indicators such as orders delivered, service hours, and distance traveled. You will work at the intersection of data and operations, turning raw numbers into clear, actionable insights that shape how we manage our delivery partner network and control costs.
This is an ideal role for someone who is intellectually curious about quick commerce and data science, has a strong instinct to simplify complex data problems, and thrives on delivering results through data-driven insights.
Key job responsibilities
LM Cost Reporting: Own end-to-end leadership reporting on cost per delivery (CPD) across 1P and 3P last mile channels - tracking actuals vs. targets, identifying cost drivers, and flagging anomalies for review. Prepare and publish regular performance reports for LM operations, finance, and 3P partner management teams. Translate complex data into clear narratives for non-technical stakeholders.
Rate Card & Payout Tracking: Maintain and update store-level rate card and payout data across the network. Ensure accuracy of payout computations and flag discrepancies between contracted rates and actuals.
DP Performance Metrics: Build and maintain dashboards tracking delivery partner (DP) level performance - including orders delivered, service hours logged, distance travelled, and productivity indices - across both 1P and 3P channels.
Data Aggregation & Pipeline Management: Aggregate data from multiple internal and external sources using SQL, S3-based data pipelines, and Excel (including Macros) to create clean, reliable datasets that power weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reporting. Pull and process data feeds from 3P partner sources ingested via S3 instances and other data pipelines.
JSON Data Management: Leverage JSON to parse, manage, and transform complex nested data structures - particularly for 3P partner data feeds, API outputs, and pipeline payloads - ensuring data is accurately flattened and integrated into reporting workflows.
Insight Generation: Go beyond reporting - identify trends, surface anomalies, and generate insights that help the LM pricing and capacity teams make faster, better decisions on DP supply, cost interventions, and partner performance.
A day in the life
Your day starts with a check on overnight data pipelines - validating that CPD and DP performance dashboards have refreshed correctly, including 3P data feeds ingested via S3. You spend the morning writing SQL queries to pull the latest payout data, parsing JSON outputs from a 3P partner pipeline, and cross-checking actuals against rate cards. By midday, you're refining an Excel Macro to automate a weekly cost summary. The afternoon brings a sync with the LM ops team - you come prepared with clean visuals and a clear point of view. You close the day updating dashboards and queuing up the next reporting pack.
