The role holder will deliver end to end, the projects in the analytics and ML domain. He/she will collaborate with Senior WPB Leadership team to determine and prioritize immediate requirements, and anticipate future Analytics, ML, BI/MI, Campaign, and data needs. Responsible to work on prioritized Analytics projects, handling trigger engine and critical Sr. Management/Group/Region ad-hoc requests and consulting to ensure high quality delivery of actionable insights, modelling, product, network analytics and business analysis.

Principal Responsibilities

This position would entail functional management as an individual contributor. The incumbent would be required to

  • Design, develop, and deploy end-to-end data science solutions to support IWPB business objectives
  • Build, validate, and maintain machine learning models, ensuring robust model lifecycle management
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements, translate them into analytical solutions, and deliver actionable insights
  • Work independently to manage projects from data extraction and cleaning to model deployment and business presentation
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams, including business, technology, and operations, to ensure alignment and timely delivery
  • Present findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences using Excel and PowerPoint
  • Leverage advanced analytics and statistical techniques to solve complex business problems
  • Utilize SQL, Python, and SAS for data manipulation, analysis, and modeling
  • Work with cloud platforms - Google Cloud Platform (GCP), for scalable data processing and model deployment
  • Stay updated with the latest trends in data science, machine learning, and generative AI; proactively seek opportunities to apply new techniques
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous learning and upskilling within the team
  • Ensure all work adheres to HSBC's data governance, privacy, and compliance standards

Qualifications/Requirements

  • At least 4 8 years of Business Experience focused primarily in the analytics preferably in Banking & Financial Services Domain.
  • Knowledge and high fluidity in advanced SAS / SQL is mandatory
  • Good handle over Python, GCP and Agile working is desirable
  • Demonstrated experience in building and deploying machine learning models; solid understanding of the model development lifecycle.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide business insights.
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and business presentations.
  • Experience with additional data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and manage projects end-to-end.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; able to translate technical concepts for business audiences.
  • Experience or keen interest in generative AI and related technologies.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for continuous learning and professional development .
