Associate Specialist Architect, AVP

Take on a key role in supporting the realisation of Enterprise and Solution Architectures, working within development teams across the engineering lifecycle. Provide technical guidance, resolve architectural impediments, and champion architecture patterns and practices. Contribute to building reusable and scalable capabilities aligned with the bank's strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the development of architecture models within a specific domain, ensuring alignment with the bank's Strategic Target Architecture.
• Assist in adopting specialist domain architecture enablers, including creating playbooks, collaborating with peers, and educating stakeholders on best practices.
• Apply approved tools, reference architectures, and design patterns, guiding development teams on suitable practices and alternatives.
• Engage in design reviews, assessing solution quality, identifying risks, and communicating findings to stakeholders.
• Monitor emerging technologies in the domain, evaluating opportunities or risks, and contributing insights to the architecture governance framework.

Skills & Experience:

• Knowledge of your area of specialism with a strong understanding of business use cases and emerging trends.
• Familiarity with modern technologies such as Cloud, Microservices, AI, and practices in agile architecture and DevOps.
• Experience in collaborative decision-making processes, partnering with business and technology colleagues to define and evolve architectural direction.
• Basic experience creating business cases to influence senior stakeholders and secure investment for architecture initiatives.
• Participation in architecture and design reviews to validate that solutions meet business needs and comply with architecture standards, with focus on risk management and governance.
