Associate Software Engineer, ServiceNow

Role Expectations

In this role, you will:

• Develop and implement integrations between ServiceNow and third-party platforms, applications, and systems using out-of-the-box plugins, API methods, and modern integration techniques.
• Design, develop, and maintain user interfaces for HR Service Delivery and other web applications on the ServiceNow platform using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular, Bootstrap, and other web technologies.
• Develop custom APIs, connectors, and workflows to enable bi-directional data exchange and system interoperability.
• Utilize standard platform functionality to build and maintain solutions, including business rules, client scripts, UI policies, data policies, ACLs, UI actions, script includes, transform maps, and workflows.
• Write efficient server-side scripts using GlideRecord methods to minimize processing time.
• Configure and customize the ServiceNow platform to support integration needs, including REST/SOAP web services and scripting.
• Code, debug, document, deploy, and maintain solutions in a highly efficient and effective manner.
• Enforce best practices around software engineering architecture and processes, including code reviews and unit testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, developers, analysts, process owners, and stakeholders to develop and implement integrated solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues, conduct system testing, and ensure stability and reliability.
• Document implementation procedures for knowledge sharing and ongoing maintenance.
• Stay updated with industry trends, emerging integration technologies, and best practices.
• Provide guidance on integrating new platforms and systems.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field—or equivalent experience.
• 5–7 years of experience as a Software Developer, with a focus on ServiceNow development and third-party integrations.
• Proficiency in ServiceNow development, including UI policies, client scripts, business rules, workflows, and integrations.
• Experience building web applications on the ServiceNow platform using ESC Pro Portal, UI Pages, UI Scripts, UI Macros, and other ServiceNow tools.
• Experience integrating ServiceNow with external systems such as SaaS, IaaS, legacy systems, on-premises apps, databases, or data sources.
• Strong skills in JavaScript, XML, HTML, CSS, AngularJS, and experience with REST, SOAP, JSON, and other integration protocols.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills; self-motivated and flexible in working with cross-functional teams.
• Highly desirable: ServiceNow certifications such as Certified Application Developer or Certified Implementation Specialist.
