Role: Senior Software Engineer I - ServiceNow Platform
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer – ServiceNow Platform to join our Global Information Systems (GIS) organization and help build a durable, high-performing ServiceNow Engineering team. This role will be responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting enterprise-grade ServiceNow solutions that enable Governance, Risk & Compliance (IRM/GRC), Security Operations (SecOps), IT Service Management (ITSM), and custom business applications across the organization.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on ServiceNow engineer with deep platform expertise, strong software engineering fundamentals, and experience delivering scalable, maintainable solutions that align with enterprise architecture standards. This individual will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, architects, and cross-functional technology teams while helping drive platform modernization through automation, DevOps, and emerging AI capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and support scalable ServiceNow solutions across the organization's IRM/GRC, SecOps, ITSM, and custom application portfolio.
- Build and enhance custom scoped applications and platform capabilities using ServiceNow engineering best practices and architectural standards.
- Configure and extend ServiceNow platform capabilities, including Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, App Engine, Service Catalog, Service Portal, CMDB, and enterprise integrations.
- Design and implement secure, reliable integrations between ServiceNow and enterprise applications using REST APIs and other integration technologies.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, and cross-functional technology teams to translate business requirements into sustainable technical solutions.
- Participate in platform governance by conducting code reviews, promoting development standards, and ensuring solution scalability, maintainability, and upgrade readiness.
- Contribute to modern ServiceNow engineering practices, including Git-based source control, ServiceNow SDK, automated testing (ATF), and CI/CD pipeline implementation.
- Evaluate and leverage emerging ServiceNow platform capabilities, including Now Assist, Generative AI Controller, and AI-driven workflow automation, to improve operational efficiency and user experience.
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to building a high-performing ServiceNow engineering team through knowledge sharing and technical leadership.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, including 4 years of hands-on ServiceNow platform development.
- Strong experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise-scale ServiceNow solutions.
- Hands-on experience developing and maintaining custom scoped applications.
- Deep understanding of ServiceNow platform architecture, application lifecycle management, and development best practices.
- Strong JavaScript development skills, including server-side and client-side scripting within the ServiceNow platform.

- Experience working with Git-based source control and modern ServiceNow development practices using the ServiceNow SDK.
- Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for ServiceNow deployments using tools such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins.
- Experience implementing or supporting Automated Test Framework (ATF) for regression and release validation.
- Understanding of software engineering principles, including modular design, reusable components, debugging, performance optimization, secure coding practices, and platform upgrade readiness.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with both technical and business stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA).
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD).
- Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) certification in Integrated Risk Management (IRM), Risk & Compliance, or other relevant ServiceNow products.
- Experience leading or mentoring ServiceNow developers within an enterprise engineering organization.
- Previous experience supporting Information Security, Cybersecurity, Governance, Risk, or Compliance organizations.
- Experience working in Agile and DevSecOps delivery environments.
- Experience implementing AI-powered capabilities within ServiceNow, including Now Assist, Generative AI Controller, and AI-driven workflow automation.
- Understanding of integrating the Now Platform with enterprise AI services and external Large Language Models (LLMs) using secure API-based integration patterns.
- Familiarity with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Model Context Protocol (MCP), AI agents, or orchestration frameworks is a plus.
- Experience defining ServiceNow engineering standards, reusable development frameworks, and platform governance.
