Job Description

We're looking for an Associate Senior Mechanical Designer with 8 to 12 years of experience to design and lead piping systems from the conceptual phase to detailed design completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering and a proven track record of working with 3D design tools. This role requires a committed team player who can ensure projects meet technical standards, regulations, and quality procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Piping Design & Leadership: Lead piping design activities, including layout, pipe rack design, and supporting. You'll work in a 3D environment to create deliverables such as general arrangement drawings, piping layouts, and spool drawings.
  • 3D Modeling & Coordination: You'll be responsible for reviewing 3D models, performing clash checks, and resolving issues. You'll also effectively coordinate and collaborate with other engineering disciplines.
  • Technical Guidance & Quality: Provide technical and design guidance to project team members. You will be accountable for adhering to company QA/QC procedures and ensuring project compliance with industry standards and safety policies.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Regularly correspond with clients and external personnel. You'll use your strong communication skills to work on your own initiative while also being a committed team player.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: A Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or an ITI/NCTVT certification in Mechanical Draftsman from a reputed institute.
  • Experience: A minimum of 8 to 12 years of working experience with 3D design tools like Plant 3D or Revit. Consulting experience is a plus.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of standard piping engineering techniques and principles.
  • A good understanding of piping codes such as ASME Bioprocessing Equipment Standard [BPE], ASME B16.1, and ASME B31.3.
  • Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD tools, including AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Revit, Navisworks, and BIM.
  • Competency with Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote).
