About the Role

As an Associate Relationship Manager Commercial Banking, you will support Relationship Managers in acquiring and activating clients, driving book growth and fee income, and cross-selling transaction banking products (such as Cash Management Services and Trade Services) and treasury/FX solutions. The role involves ensuring flawless execution, documentation, and compliance across the portfolio while coordinating with internal teams to deliver timely solutions, superior client service, and robust reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

Client Support

  • Assist in preparing client proposals, credit appraisals, and documentation
  • Act as a secondary point of contact for clients, ensuring timely responses to queries

Revenue Generation

  • Support RMs in meeting balance sheet and income targets from interest and fee-based products
  • Track opportunity pipelines and account activation (utilization, first drawdown, wallet ramp-up)

Operational Efficiency

  • Ensure smooth execution of transactions, including disbursements and amendments
  • Coordinate with internal teams to resolve operational bottlenecks

Risk and Data Management

  • Prepare CAM for NTB and ETB renewals; monitor covenants for existing contracts
  • Maintain accurate client records, including financial statements and transaction history
  • Generate reports for RM and management review

Cross-Selling Support

  • Identify opportunities for cross-selling products like treasury services, CMS, and forex
  • Support RM in achieving cross-sell targets

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Maintain CRM hygiene by logging interactions, updating opportunities, and ensuring periodic reviews
  • Prepare meeting notes and action trackers; follow through to closure
  • Support audits and compliance reviews; close observations within timelines
  • Curate sector and competitor intelligence; contribute to campaigns and AOP inputs
  • Provide back-up coverage for RM during leave/travel to ensure service continuity

What We Are Looking For

Education

Graduate Degree: B.Tech/B.Com/BA/BSc from an accredited university (full-time)

Postgraduate (Preferred): MBA/PGDM or CA/ICWA (Premier/Tier I preferred; Tier II/III considered based on profile)

Experience

25 years of relevant experience in private or public sector banking

Exposure to mid-corporate or commercial banking preferred

Skills And Attributes

Technical Skills:

Strong knowledge of banking products, credit and financial analysis, and regulatory compliance

Proficiency in advanced MS Excel, PowerPoint, CRM systems, and LOS/LMS platforms

Functional Skills

Stakeholder management, deal structuring, pipeline management, proposal writing, and process improvement

Behavioral Skills

Strong time management, excellent communication (verbal and written), resilience, adaptability, collaboration, and attention to detail
