Job Description

Job Title: Associate/Assistant Professor – Public Relations

Department: Department of Journalism & Mass Communication, SMEH

Location: Faridabad, Haryana

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and academically driven Associate/Assistant Professor in Public Relations to contribute to teaching, research, and academic development. The candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality education in public relations, corporate communication, and media studies, while actively engaging in research, student mentoring, and institutional initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver lectures in Public Relations, Corporate Communication, Media Ethics, Branding, and Digital PR
  • Develop and update curriculum in line with industry trends and academic standards
  • Mentor and guide students in academic and project work
  • Conduct research and publish in reputed journals (Scopus/UGC Care)
  • Participate in academic administration, committees, and accreditation processes
  • Organize workshops, seminars, guest lectures, and industry interactions
  • Build industry linkages and support student placements/internships
  • Contribute to institutional branding and outreach initiatives

Qualifications & Experience:

Assistant Professor:

  • Master's degree in Mass Communication / Public Relations / Journalism or related field with at least 55% marks.
  • NET qualified or PhD (preferred/as per UGC norms)

Associate Professor:

  • PhD in a relevant discipline
  • Minimum 8 years of teaching/research experience
  • Proven research publications and academic contributions

Key Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of Public Relations, Media Strategy, and Corporate Communication
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Research orientation and publication record
  • Industry exposure in PR/Media agencies (preferred)
  • Ability to integrate digital tools and new media in teaching

Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience in handling accreditation processes (NAAC/NBA)
  • Industry certifications or consulting experience
  • Strong network with media and PR professionals
