Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Design (Concept, FEED, and Detail Design) of Electrical Distribution Systems (LV/HV) based on international standards for Middle East, Europe, and South East Asia projects
  • Working knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes including pumping stations, desalination, STPs, etc.
  • Support global, multi-disciplinary teams on Water/Waste Water projects
  • Prepare Design Basis, Load List, Cable Schedule, Single Line Diagrams, Schematics, Bulk MTO, and Interconnection Schedules
  • Understand P&ID, control philosophy, and control system architecture
  • Familiar with I/O lists, loop diagrams, instrument lists, and instrument datasheets
  • Perform equipment sizing calculations: Transformers, Generators, Cables, UPS, Capacitor Banks
  • Carry out lighting and illumination calculations using Dialux or vendor software
  • Conduct Earthing and Lightning Protection calculations
  • Use ETAP / SKM / Amtech for system studies including load flow, short circuit, relay settings, etc.
  • Prepare technical specifications and data sheets for electrical equipment
  • Handle RFQ preparation, technical offer evaluation, and vendor drawing reviews
  • Review HV/LV schematics and prepare electrical layouts, trench/tray layouts, lighting layouts
  • Coordinate with architects, structural, mechanical, and process engineers
  • Contribute to conceptual reports, construction plans, and technical specs
  • Understand and apply classified/hazardous area standards
  • Perform other related duties as assigned


Candidate Specification

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
  • 8+ years of experience in electrical design (preferably for water sector)
  • Proficient in Dialux, ETAP, and MS Office
  • AutoCAD understanding is essential
  • Able to work independently and in global integrated teams
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn new tools and technologies
