- To manage the activities of the groups within his/her Business Unit and acts as the liaison to the SVP and other Senior Management.
- The Vice President is responsible for the timely delivery of assigned clients of the team ensuring their accuracy and completeness.
- The Vice President drives each client relationship and is responsible for reviewing all tax deliverables of each relationship.
- Confirms all accounting matters impacting tax are identified, documented and resolved bringing any matters requiring escalation to the attention of the SVP along with a proposed solution.
- Ensures documentation and escalation of all tax issues
- Facilitates multiple client and accounting firm relationships ensuring superior client service, group management development and staff morale.
FUNCTIONS:
Ensure team operates effectively and within SSC guidelines and standards
- Responsible for assigned client deliverables;
- Assist SVP in setting departmental policies, procedures and standards;
- Maintain and monitor all policies, procedures and standards;
- Act as technical and knowledge resource to the business unit;
- Participate in review of assigned tax deliverables;
- Allocate client deliverable across staff levels
- Monitor staff timesheet and weekly workload
- Document and maintain a file of all tax-related issues, resolutions, positions and methodologies by fund.
- Set up and attend meetings with accounting group to identify key issues, increase knowledge of fund accounting, and increase efficiencies of the information flow process.
- Build client relationships and demonstrate knowledge of client business
Enhance Staff Development
- Train all staff in relevant tax matters;
- Control and comments on staff performance reviews
- Manage day to day activities and supervise tax staff
Planning and New Fund Setup
- Oversee implementation and assignment of new clients;
Assist SVP with review of offering documents and partnership agreements in conjunction with counsel.
- Assist SVP with value-added services and consultation of high-level tax matters.
Maintain High-Quality Communications
- Ensure Internal and External Communications are timely and of High-Quality
- Monitor quality assurance
- Promote positive Company image in all internal and external communications;
- Perform timely and regular reporting to SVP and other members of senior management;
- Communicate with clients and accounting firms on a regular basis and document any relevant matters.
- Resolve issues and address high level client requests.
Develop Operations and Industry Knowledge
- Attend conferences and relevant industry meetings as directed;
- Pro-actively seek out educational and informational sources to remain industry current
- Continuously assess new and existing client relationships to identify new business opportunities;
