Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Business Development & Revenue Growth
  • Identify and acquire new customers including forwarders, CHAs, NVOCCs, shipping lines, and direct shippers.
  • Promote CFS services such as import handling, export consolidation, bonded warehouse, ICD connectivity, reefer handling, LCL services, hazardous cargo handling, etc.
  • Achieve monthly/quarterly volume and revenue targets.
  • Conduct regular market visits to build visibility and generate leads.
  • Customer Relationship Management
  • Maintain strong relationships with key customers to ensure repeat business.
  • Provide timely resolution of customer queries related to billing, operations, documentation, and cargo movement.
  • Conduct customer review meetings and gather feedback for service improvement.
  • Pricing & Commercial Negotiation
  • Prepare and submit competitive commercial proposals for CFS services.
  • Negotiate rates and contractual terms within defined commercial guidelines.
  • Coordinate with finance for credit approvals and payment collections.
  • Market Intelligence
  • Track competitor activities, pricing trends, new service offerings, and market developments.
  • Identify opportunities for new services or improvements in existing offerings.
  • Coordination with Internal Teams
  • Work closely with operations, documentation, billing, and customer service teams to ensure service delivery as per customer expectations.
  • Ensure operational issues affecting customers are escalated and resolved quickly.
  • Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Volume growth (TEUs handled per month).
  • Revenue achieved vs. target.
  • Number of new accounts acquired.
  • Customer retention and satisfaction score.
  • Market share in key trade lanes.
  • Timely collection of outstanding payments.
  • Skills & Competencies
  • Strong understanding of CFS operations, import/export processes, and EXIM documentation.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships.
  • Market intelligence and analytical skills.
  • Result-oriented, self-driven, and able to work independently

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in logistics, commerce, or business).
  • 310 years of experience in CFS, freight forwarding, shipping line, NVOCC, or logistics sales.
  • Experience in CFS import/export sales is highly preferred.
