About the Team

The Treasury - Investments team at Navi is responsible for managing the company's treasury with a focus on ensuring liquidity and managing financial risk. The team plays a critical role in creating and executing investment strategies to optimize returns.

About the Role

The Equity Trader/Analyst will be responsible for carrying out fundamental analysis for developing and evaluating trade ideas that involve fundamental catalysts or valuation insights from quarterly earnings release, earnings calls, monthly/ quarterly updates in comparison to market expectations & executing equity trades. The Candidate should possess strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of market dynamics and the ability to take Independent informed decisions. The Candidate will be reporting directly to the Head of Investments.

Key Responsibilities

• Market Analysis and Trade Execution: Developing and evaluating trade ideas that involve fundamental catalysts or valuation insights from Quarterly Earnings release, Earnings Calls, Monthly/ Quarterly updates in comparison to market expectations. Execute buy and sell orders for equities & ensuring timely and accurate transactions.
• Interaction with Market Participants: Interacting with various sell-side sales brokers, research analysts. Communicate with other market participants & understand the market scenario to find opportunities & enhance portfolio performance.
• Risk Management: Implement risk management strategies to minimize potential losses and enhance portfolio performance with a disciplined approach.
• Reporting: Prepare and present reports on trading activities, market conditions, and portfolio performance to the management.

Must Haves

• Excellent knowledge of financial statement analysis & financial modelling
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
• Proficiency in trading platforms and financial software.
• Effective communicator and good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and make quick decisions.
• Solid understanding of financial markets and trading strategies.
• Technical analysis is a plus, but not must.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in securities market (hedge fund analyst, Analyst/Trader from AMC/MF, sell side equity research, sell side sales and trading)
