Responsibilities
The Associate Manager - Electrical will be responsible for the comprehensive management of electrical assets and operations at the thermal power plant. Key responsibilities include:
- Electrical System Management: Oversee the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all electrical systems including high voltage switchgear, transformers, motors, generators, and control systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Preventive and Predictive Maintenance: Develop, implement, and monitor maintenance schedules and protocols to prevent unscheduled downtimes, enhance equipment longevity, and maintain operational efficiency.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure strict adherence to electrical safety standards, statutory regulations, and environmental policies. Lead safety audits, risk assessments, and enforce best practices to safeguard personnel and plant assets.
- Project Management and Upgradation: Lead electrical engineering projects related to system upgrades, capacity enhancement, and new installations. Coordinate with cross-functional teams including procurement, construction, and commissioning to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Team Leadership and Development: Mentor, guide, and manage the electrical engineering team. Promote continuous learning and skills development, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture aligned with Adani's values of empowerment and respect.
- Energy Efficiency and Innovation: Drive initiatives to improve energy utilization, reduce losses, and incorporate modern technologies and automation systems to optimize plant performance and sustainability goals.
- Budgeting and Resource Management: Prepare and manage budgets for electrical department operations and projects. Ensure efficient use of resources and cost control while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Vendor and Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure timely procurement, compliance, and smooth execution of electrical works and inspections.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of electrical systems, maintenance activities, incidents, and compliance reports. Generate periodic performance and status reports for senior management review.
- Emergency Response: Establish and lead response protocols for electrical emergencies and breakdowns to minimize downtime and impact on plant operations.
Qualifications
Education Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from a recognized university. A Master's degree is an added advantage.
Certification Required
- Certified Electrical Safety Officer (ESO) or equivalent certification
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is desirable
- Electrical Design and Maintenance certifications related to thermal power plants
