Job Description

Why do we exist What do we do

The quality of school education available to students from low-income communities across India is abysmal. Their chances of attending college or building a career are significantly lower than their high-income peers, condemning them to a life without voice or choice. iTeach was born in 2015 to challenge this status quo and create a level playing field for ALL children.

We run free and high-impact schools and an exceptional college-to-career program for the most disadvantaged students in Pune and Navi Mumbai. We are known for our world-class professional development, our result-oriented team culture, and our student-centric school design. Read more about us at www.iTeachSchools.org.

Responsibilities:

This role is about shaping how the world understands iTeach. From classrooms to boardrooms, from teachers to donors, the Associate Manager, Communications will help tell stories that matter and build momentum around the urgent work of public education reform.

You will own iTeach's external communications, guide a small team, and work closely with leadership to ensure our voice is clear, honest, and deeply rooted in what is happening on the ground in schools.

Storytelling & Direction

  • Build and execute a yearly communications plan that reflects iTeach's priorities, values, and lived realities in our schools, including research around best practices for public relations, content design and outreach.
  • Maintain and evolve iTeach's voice across platforms: clear, grounded, hopeful, and urgent where needed.
  • Lead all external communications - brand guidebook, templates, and collateral standards.
  • Ensure powerful, strategic storytelling to inspire action across fundraising, recruitment, volunteering, and partnerships.

Digital Presence & Content Management

  • Own and evolve iTeach's website as a space for stories, impact, and information.
  • Lead social media strategy on Instagram and LinkedIn with a strong sense of audience and purpose.
  • Build thoughtful content rhythms (monthly themes, storytelling arcs, key moments).
  • Drive analytics-based improvements for reach, engagement and conversions.
  • Support digital visibility through Google Ads, SEO hygiene, and selective PR or media collaborations.

Content Creation & Multimedia

  • Oversee the creation of videos and visual stories: student journeys, teacher voices, organisational milestones.
  • Lead design and production of internal/external collaterals - decks, reports, brochures, banners, newsletters that are clear, accessible, and honest.

People & Project Management

  • Manage and mentor a small communications team, providing direction, support and feedback.
  • Work closely with fundraising, programs, recruitment, and leadership to surface stories from across the organisation.

Prerequisites

  • Required: Bachelor's degree with strong performance.
  • Required: 3+ years of relevant experience in communications, branding, or digital marketing.
  • Demonstrated excellence in writing, content creation, and storytelling.
  • Strong understanding of social media algorithms, analytics, SEO, and digital marketing tools.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to independently drive outcomes.

Compensation and Benefits: We take pride in offering competitive compensation and benefits commensurate with the candidate's education and work experience. The salary range for this position ranges from 60k - 70k pm (CTC), and we are dedicated to providing top-notch industry benefits. These benefits include PF, gratuity, medical insurance (up to 3 lakh PA), paid leaves, annual increments, and promotion opportunities.
