Job Description

As part of the team, you will work with the team to oversee the acceleration program's operations and ensure that all start-ups/cohort firms engagement activities are carried out from the pre-program stage through the program and the post-program stage by keeping track of, managing, and reporting progress.

1. Startup Sourcing & Ecosystem Mapping:

  • Identify and source relevant startups aligned with thematic focus areas (e.g., healthcare, sustainability, deeptech, etc.).
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of early-stage and growth-stage startups.
  • Map the startup ecosystem, including incubators, accelerators, VCs, and founder networks.
  • Track emerging startups, innovations, and market trends.

2. Partnership Development & Engagement

  • Establish and manage relationships with incubators, accelerators, startup communities, and ecosystem enablers.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for startup outreach and engagement.
  • Facilitate collaborations with ecosystem partners for startup sourcing and program participation.
  • Support onboarding and engagement of startups into programs.

3. Evaluation & Due Diligence

  • Conduct initial screening and assessment of startups based on defined criteria (sector relevance, scalability, impact, etc.).
  • Coordinate with internal teams for deeper evaluation and selection processes.
  • Maintain structured databases of sourced and evaluated startups.

4. Program Alignment & Integration

  • Work closely with program teams to align sourced startups with ongoing initiatives and partner requirements.
  • Support customization of startup pipelines based on specific program or partner needs.
  • Ensure smooth integration of startups into accelerator programs, pilots, or partnerships.

5. Market Intelligence & Research

  • Track startup trends, funding activity, and innovation landscapes across sectors.
  • Conduct research on emerging technologies, business models, and competitive landscapes.
  • Provide insights and reports to inform strategic decision-making.

6. Outreach & Ecosystem Representation

  • Represent the organization at startup events, demo days, conferences, and networking forums.
  • Organize and support startup outreach campaigns, open calls, and innovation challenges.
  • Build visibility for the organization within the startup ecosystem.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in medicine, public health, public advocacy, engineering, or other relevant streams.
  • Postgraduate degree/ MBA from Tier 1 or 2 institutes in a relevant field such as finance, health, entrepreneurship, public health, program management, and development studies would be desirable.

Experience Requirements

  • Business Development experience is required.
  • Must be willing to travel in India.
  • Experience in the startup ecosystem is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage client and stakeholder relationships
  • Organized and experienced in managing projects and teams to tight budgets and deadlines
  • A team player who is a fast learner, flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities, and able to work under pressure.
  • Excellent listening skills, patience, and engaging manner.
  • Demonstrated fluency in English.
