Associate II SQA Engineer

Responsibilities

• Execute testing engagements as per defined approach and plan (functional and automation testing), closely collaborating with the Test Lead/Manager.
• Conceptualize, present, and deliver testing solutions.
• Ensure adherence to process, risk management, and delivery standards by defining KPIs and KRAs.
• Utilize test management tools like JIRA effectively.
• Work closely with the product team to understand business requirements.
• Core responsibilities include:
• Executing automated and functional test cases
• Reviewing test results
• Reporting defects
• Coordinate with Product and QA teams to ensure specifications are written in Gherkin format for easy implementation in BDD automation framework.
• Design and write maintainable automated test scripts using Java, Cucumber/Gherkin, and functional manual tests.
• Write SQL queries to support data validation and test automation.
• Maintain UI automation tests for complex web/mobile/standalone applications in a timely manner.
• Maintain backend automation framework and tests.
• Serve as a domain SME for the QA team.
• Work extensively with Product and Development teams to resolve requirement gaps and functional issues.
• Coordinate with the Performance Test team to provide required functional inputs.

What We're Looking For

Technical & Domain Skills:

• Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
• Experience designing Testing Frameworks like Serenity, Cucumber, JUnit, etc.
• Exposure to application stacks involving MQ or Kafka.
• Hands-on experience and strong understanding of the Investment Banking domain.
• Solid understanding of Financial Products and Trade Lifecycle & Workflow.
• Knowledge of schema design, XML messaging, and MQs; supporting Business Analysis functions.
• Familiarity with Reference, Trade, and Market Data platforms (added advantage).

Programming & Tools:

• Programming experience, preferably in Java.
• Strong knowledge of BDD frameworks using Gherkin.
• Ability to write complex SQL queries.
• Hands-on experience with test management tools such as JIRA.
