• Lead the electrical discipline on projects, acting as Job or Project Leader where appropriate.
• Take ownership of sustained client relationships and manage expectations through innovative solutions.
• Prepare technical and financial proposals for new work.
• Client & Stakeholder Engagement
• Develop and strengthen relationships with clients, architects, contractors, and developers.
• Represent Buro Happold independently in client meetings, design reviews, and technical discussions.
• Team & Resource Management
• Manage workload, resourcing, and performance of engineers and technicians.
• Provide mentoring and guidance, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
• Support recruitment and professional development initiatives.
• Technical Excellence
• Undertake technical/quality reviews of projects and ensure compliance with Indian Standards, Codes of Practice, and global best practices.
• Champion the adoption of new technologies to improve performance and sustainability, supporting our net zero by 2030 targets.
• Ensure projects are delivered to an excellent standard, within deadlines and budget.

Skills & Experience Required

• Experience: 12+ years in an MEP consultancy environment, with a portfolio across Aviation, Residential, Commercial, and Hospitality projects.
• Technical Leadership: Respected designer of electrical engineering systems with broad sectoral expertise.
• Project Management: Proven ability to manage teams, financial performance, and complex projects.
• Collaboration: Strong interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to build trusted relationships with clients, architects, and partners.
• Cross-disciplinary Knowledge: Although electrically biased, good understanding of mechanical and other design disciplines.
• Domain Expertise: In-depth knowledge of electrical codes and standards.
• Mentorship: A demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior engineers.
• Education: BEng/BSc or MEng/MSc in Electrical Engineering.
• Chartered status (desirable).
