Associate Director, Software Engineering

Responsibilities & Impact

• Work within an Agile team to deliver high-quality, customer-centric software solutions aligned with business goals
• Collaborate with software architects and developers to evaluate and modernize legacy Java applications
• Design and implement modernization strategies such as refactoring, containerization, and microservices adoption
• Build and maintain scalable, secure, and efficient solutions on AWS cloud infrastructure
• Optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability for large-scale distributed systems
• Conduct code reviews, contribute to architectural decisions, and provide constructive feedback
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex application issues, ensuring timely resolution
• Stay informed on industry trends and best practices in Java, microservices, and AWS technologies

What We're Looking For

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• 1115 years of hands-on experience in Java application development

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in Java, Spring Framework, and Hibernate
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, and RDS
• Experience in application modernization, refactoring monoliths to microservices
• Understanding of cloud-native design, containerization, and distributed systems
• Ability to troubleshoot high-complexity issues in production-grade applications

Soft Skills

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities in cross-functional teams
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, Agile environment

Additional Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with containerization tools such as Docker and AWS Fargate
• Exposure to message queuing systems and high-transaction environments
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices is a plus
