Job description
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Undertaking design and planning activities on maritime projects - container terminals, mining/bulk, oil/gas, marinas, ports and harbors, offshore wind, coastal resiliency and development schemes
- Independently prepare calculations, drawings, and specifications and documents, and oversee the development of technical deliverables prepared by junior structural engineers.
- Oversee the work of junior structural engineers. Perform quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
- Participate in the development of technical scope and design fee estimates in response to RFPs.
- Lead and coordinate marine team with other in-house and subconsultant engineering disciplines as needed. Participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
- Work alongside a project manager to ensure technical and business-related successes of projects.
Qualifications
- Master of Engineering degree (or equivalent education) in an appropriate engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng), or Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent in the relevant field from any global organization (e.g., Institution of Civil Engineers, UK)
- 15+ year's experience as a Structural Engineer with a focus in ports, marine and waterfront projects
- Experience with computer analysis and design software such as SAP 2000, RISA 3D, STAAD.Pro, SAFE
- Experience with AutoCAD and Revit
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
